Z31 4 to 5 Lug Swap

Early non-turbo Z31s, like the 1984-1985 non-turbos, came with a 4-lug (4x114.3) bolt pattern. The turbos and later cars use 5-lug (5x114.3). Swapping to 5-lug opens up far more wheel choices, and the parts bolt right in: the hubs and axle stubs are interchangeable across all years.

The parts tables below show every piece of the front hub and rear axle, which years used which part number, and what each piece will work with.

Since everything is apart, it's a good time to inspect the bearings and replace them if needed, with new oil seals and fresh grease. Before buying wheels, check the offset limits.
