Z31 Leather Care

There is nothing like the look and feel of fresh, clean leather. We have assembled some tips and techniques you can use to keep your leather seats and trim in top shape for many years of service.

Here are some general tips for leather care

  • Take your time and use premium quality products specifically designed for leather.
  • Leather should be cleaned, then conditioned. Any leather product you use must not remove either the leather's natural oils, or the dyes that are used to color the leather.
  • Test any cleaning method on an out-of-the-way spot first. This is especially true when removing stains. Heavy stains are impossible to remove without causing some damage to the leather.

Here are some general tips for leather care

Leather should be cleaned and conditioned regularly to restore moisture and to maintain its appearance.

Never use course brushes or pads to scrub leather. Vacuum thoroughly, using a crevice tool to remove particles from hard to reach places. Apply a cleaning solution with a terry-covered sponge or a soft brush and wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Mist the leather with a spray bottle containing clean water and wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Finally, apply a premium quality leather conditioner containing natural oils and a sunscreen.

One tip for removing spots from leather is to work a leather cleaner into the spot with a soft cloth, and if soils remain after applying it, let it sit for a few hours. Repeat if necessary.

Water spots can be removed from leather by moistening the area with a little water. Allow the leather to dry or gently blow dry.
