Z31 Interior Reproduction Trim

XenonZcar Is happy to be able to offer these excellent replacement trim pieces for the Z31 Models.

These items consist of a thin, white, substrate to which a finish of your choice, is overlaid. Then the white lettering is actually the exposed substrate after being routered. Each has a self-adhesive, peel off backing. You will have to carefully remove the old wood grain overlay from your particular pieces and these go in their place. You can use “Goo Gone” or even WD-40 to remove the old adhesive.

We offer these with three finishes at this time.

  • Black with Orange lettering
  • Brushed Aluminum with Orange Lettering
  • Brushed Aluminum with Green Lettering
  • Burlwood With Green Lettering

The HVAC and stereo have green or orange filters to show back lighting when the lights are on – just like OEM.

3000GT fuel rails on a Z31?

2014-05-19 18.02.51 - Copy

As I been continuing my build I found that the DSM  Mitsubishi 3000GT/Dodge Stealth uses a fuel rail with 11mm injectors with the perfect spacing for the Z31 manifold. This will allow you to upgrade to the more common 11mm style injectors rather than trying to source hard to find bosh barb type injectors.

With the information that the rails will match up to the injector ports on the Z31 manifold I started with ordering injectors. I went with the DSM 450cc Blue tops from a Turbo Manual Eclipse.

Once I got the injectors and rails I test fit them in the manifold to see what kind of mounting brackets I needed to hold them down correctly. I started off making measurements and ended up with the design you see below. I made the first set on a band saw and drill press and got the basic shape needed to work.  I am currently seeing if there is interest in the Z community for these mounts and if there is I will have them produced on a milling machine for better tolerances.

Z31 Pass Through Motor Mount

When I was Building my Z31 I was having an issue with the stock S-Pipe slipping off the turbo and causing issues with letting un-metered air into the intake system and this was causing a rich running condition. The Stock S-Pipe is also one of the most restrictive areas of the Z31 Stock intake system. To do away with this I have made a Pass through solid motor mount that allows for the intake air to the turbo to pass through it as seen below.

The mount is made from a 1″x 3″ x 1/8″ Rectangle tube for the base, 4″ Sch 40 Pipe for the center pass through and then 1″x 1 1/2″ and 3/16″ Steel for the engine side of the mount.

200 ZR

In 1985 The 200ZR was Created and was the last of the Z cars to have a straight six engine. Nissan dropped the L-series motors and instead used the RB20DET motor in the 200ZR. The RB20DET is a Inline-6 2000cc Twin Cam Electronic fuel injected Inter-cooled Single Turbo and is the same motor used in the R31 Skyline GTS. It also had higher speed limiter, stiffer suspension, and a LSD R200.

The Dashboard was fitted with white face guages like the 87-89 300zx and different interior Fabrics.

Out side it had a small lip on the front air dam like the 300zx turbo models. It also had a Large hood scoop centered on the power bulge. This directed air into the top mount inter-cooler on the RB20DET. The 200ZR was offered with a set of 15″ Alloy wheels that were used on the 1986 300zx Non turbo.

The Differential offered in the 200ZR was a long nose R200 Limited slip unit with a 3.545 Gear set.

The 200ZR – I was offered again in 1987 – 1989 with the RB20DET motor just like the Zenki models.

The 200ZR -I also kept the Arched fenders like the Zenki models but added the new Kouki nose, headlights, Tail lamps and Bumper. It was Available in both 2 seat and 2+2 models. The 200ZR – I was only available in a Slick Top model with manual Transmission.

Differentials in Automatic transmission models received a 4.625 gear set and the manual models received a 4.375 Gear set.

The 200ZR – II was offered again with the RB20DET motor just like the Zenki models and the 200ZR – I.

The 200ZR – II also kept the Arched fenders like the Zenki models but added the new Kouki nose, headlights, Tail lamps and Bumper. It was Available in both 2 seat and 2+2 models. The 200ZR – I was only available in a T-Top model.

The 200Zr – II had an option of the E4N71B 4 speed Automatic Transmission for 2+2 models Only.

Differentials in Automatic transmission models received a 4.625 gear set and the manual models received a 4.375 Gear set.
