Owner: Andy Stewart

Model:1987 300zx Non-Turbo to Turbo Conversion

This 1987 300zx is owned by none other than Andy Stewart. He found the car while taking the long way home from work back in 2006. He Purchased the car for $1100 in it's non turbo form the next day. She was rough around the edges and had the clunk in the rear but He fell in love with her!

His plan was to work on it and fix her up as he came across issues but 2 days later his daily driver died and the Z had to be pressed into service. Over the next few years he only performed basic maintenance to her and the time came to make some upgrades. He got the car painted and the same day he got the car back some one side swiped it in his apartment complex. Talk about luck.

Andy then repaired the damage and painted her this awesome Blue that it is today. He added a set of wheels and moved on to making more power.

His first build was going with a late model W series turbo swap and built his own intercooler setup using a Hyundai Genesis cooler core and an eBay 2.5 pipe kit. This setup retained the factory AC. To get the power to the ground he installed a SPEC stage 2 clutch with the power going through the stock 71C non turbo transmission.

After the power was addressed he turned to the suspension department and fitted some Stance coil over shocks.

Currently he is building a VG33E(t) Setup since he has broken the current power plant. The Current goal is a 500whp VG series on a budget of 2k or less.
